DARA is focused on providing education and marketing opportunities to the members. With monthly programs on writing craft, publishing business, and writing tools, we strive to improve our writing skills. We support and encourage our members no matter their writing level.

DARA offers a safe, inclusive environment for all. Since the pandemic, we continue to be a hybrid chapter where meet on the 4th Saturday of each month on Zoom, and in-person once a quarter. We meet from 9:00 – 9:30 for socializing, 9:30 – 10:00 for business, 10:00 – 11:00 for speaker/workshops.

Annual dues for the Dallas Area Romance Authors are $45 per year. Members of DARA must first be members of the Romance Writers of America. Dues are not deductible as a charitable expense, but may be deducted as a business expense, according to the IRS.
